The projekt
The Havana Soup Kitchen is created for vulnerable children of Havana (Havana is part of Katutura in Windhoek). In the beginning we provide daily meals for 40 kids – breakfast and lunch. We also teach the children and prepare them for school. We started on the 2th of June 2010.

The second part of the project is to create a platform for teaching the parents self-sustaining activities. This could be the production of soap, bread, toys or flower pots made from newspaper. With this project we want to empower the children to get self confident and we want to help the families to become self subsistent.
The Havana Soup Kitchen is the first part of the program which is called Bet-osyan (Basic Education and Teaching for Out of School Youth and Adults in Namibia).
